[2015] Game Happens! – Beyond the Screen

ENG | ITA

[ENG]

Since the second edition, Game Happens! has presented a subtitle which is the main guideline for the curatorial concept. The 2015 theme is “Beyond the Screen”. The festival focuses on virtual reality and physical games. International speakers shared their experiences in designing and developing digital games that create playful experiences within the physical world, sometimes through alternative controllers (or players!). Adrian Hon talks about games and fitness, Michelle Westerlaken presents her research about human-animal interactions, Lena Mech tells some stories about urban games, and Roberto Dillon explores the opportunity in game design higher education.

Indie Games Showcase & Poster Sessions

The Innerworld is the second – and most relaxed – part of the event. In the afternoon, attendees are invited to play some games and discuss about the future of gaming. Games and presentations has been selected via a public call for submission (showcase, poster session). The Innerworld is organised as an itinerary within Villa Bombrini: a certain number of rooms is destined to indie games showcase, while the ballroom is the central location to poster sessions.

– Beyond the Screen.
